Beginning in 1986 Dr. Mohtashemi began developing the Art of Collage and Montage. This art is rooted in a deep personel and transpersonel foundation, which was creatively processed by assembling pictures, words, poetry and contemporary news articles layered over maps to express certain feelings, emotions and ideas. |

Although Dr. Mohtashemi has made many photo collages over the years, only one remains intact, which is presented here on the web site. Dr. Mohtashemi calls the collage "The Map of Success." Every element within the collage revitalizes memories of events that occurred during those years, moment by moment. |

The collage is composed of combinations of pictures of prominent personalities and friends, paintings by famous artists, poetry written in Chinese, English, Arabic, and other languages. Many geographic areas - states, countries, and continents can be seen spread across the map in both an orderly and a random fashion. |

Dr. Mohtashemi sees the collage as a torch of creative art, reflecting both the big bang, and a sense of harmony. This creative piece is dedicated to Dr. E. Mark Stern, Diplomate in Clinical Psychology and a Professor Emeritus of the Graduate Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Iona College. |
